Directors Guild of America Award de la meilleure réalisation pour un film

Le Directors Guild of America Award de la meilleure réalisation pour un film (Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film) est un prix remit depuis 1949 par la Directors Guild of America (nommée jusqu'en 1960 la Screen Directors Guild) durant ses prix annuels.

C'est le prix le plus ancien de la guilde, qui avait un conflit avec l'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences et qui souhaitait s'en démarquer.

Le prix est souvent vu comme un indicateur pour les Oscars (sauf pour les trois premières cérémonies qui avaient lieu après les Oscars) du fait que le palmarès des DGA Awards s'en écarte très rarement.

Jusqu'en 1970, le prix appliquait une présélection avant les nominations, les films recalés avant les nominations sont dits du trimestre, puis intitulés finalistes.
