Saybalı — Yelizavetpol (Gəncə) quberniyasının Zəngəzur qəzasında, indi Sisyan rayonu ərazisində kənd.[2]

Tarixi

Rayon mərkəzindən 25 km cənubda yerləşir.

Toponim qədim türk dilində "vulkan mənşəli daşlıq", "düzənlik, düzəngah, səhra" mənasında işlənən say sözü ilə[3] "sığınacaq, şəhər, qala" mənasında işlənən balıq (balık, baluq) sözü[4] əsasında formalaşmışdır. Saybalı toponimin ikinci komponenti olan "balı" sözünün sonunda "q" samiti düşmüşdür. M. Kaşğari arqu tayfasının yaşadığı şəhərin adının da Balu olduğunu qeyd edir[4] və təbii ki, M. Kaşğarinin adını çəkdiyi Balu toponimi "balıq" sözündən əmələ gəlmişdir. Saybalı toponimi relyef əsasında yaranan toponimdir. Quruluşca mürəkkəb toponimdir.

Erm. SSR AS RH-nin 10. IX. 1946-cı il fərmanı ilə adı dəyişdirilib Sarnakunk qoyulmuşdur.

Əhalisi

XIX–XX əsrlərdə yaşayış məntəqəsi kimi qeydə alınsa da, əhalisi haqqında məlumat verilmir. Ermənilər buraya 1924–1925-ci illərdə İran və Türkiyədən köçürülmüşdür[5].
