Bağırbəyli (keçmiş Zəngəzur mahalı) yerləşən kənd.

Etimologiyası

Yelizavetpol (Gəncə) quberniyasının Zəngəzur qəzasında, indiki Gorus rayonu ərazisində kənd. Rayon mərkəzindən 21 km cənub-şərqdə yerləşirdi[1]. Qafqazın 5 verstlik xəritəsində[2] qeyd edilmişdir. Burada 1907-ci ildə 836 nəfər azərbaycanlı yaşamışdır[3]. 1918-ci ildə kənd erməni təcavüzünə məruz qalaraq sakinləri -azərbaycanlılar tarixi-etnik torpaqlarından qırğınlarla qovulmuşdur. 1920-ci ildə kənd ləğv edilmişdir. İndi xaraba kənddir.

Toponim Bağırbəy şəxs adına mənsubluq bildirən -li şəkilçisinin artırılması ilə əmələ gəlib, «Bağırbəyə mənsub kənd» mənasını bildirir. Antropotoponimdir. Quruluşca düzəltmə toponimdir.[4] 1917-ci ildə Qubadlı qəzasının Cicimli inzibati ərazi vahidində eyniadlı kənd qeydə alınmışdır.

Bağırbəyli kəndində ermənilər 7 kişi və qadını bir evə doldurmuş, onları diri-diri yandırmışdılar.[5] Gorus rayonunun 21-ci km-də yerləşən bu kənd 1918-ci ildə ermənilər tərəfindən dağıdılmışdır. Semantik cəhətdən məlumdur. Toponim Bağırbəyli nəsl, tayfa adı ilə bağlıdır[6][7]
