জনসংখ্যার উপাত্ত

২০১১ সালের পরিসংখ্যান অনুযায়ী পালাখাল মডেল ইউনিয়নের জনসংখ্যা ২৪,০৩৯ জন। এর মধ্যে পুরুষ ১১,৩৫৪ জন এবং মহিলা ১২,৬৮৫ জন। মোট পরিবার ৪,৭৯২টি।[১]

অবস্থান ও সীমানা

কচুয়া উপজেলার উত্তর-মধ্যাংশে পালাখাল মডেল ইউনিয়নের অবস্থান। এ ইউনিয়নের উত্তরে বিতারা ইউনিয়ন, পশ্চিমে সহদেবপুর পশ্চিম ইউনিয়ন, দক্ষিণে কাদলা ইউনিয়ন এবং পূর্বে কচুয়া দক্ষিণ ইউনিয়ন ও কচুয়া উত্তর ইউনিয়ন অবস্থিত।

ইতিহাস

পালাখাল মডেল ইউনিয়ন এক সময় কচুয়া উপজেলাধীন ৪নং সহদেবপুর ইউনিয়নের অংশ ছিল। পরবর্তীতে বৃহত্তর সহদেবপুর ইউনিয়ন সহদেবপুর পূর্ব ও সহদেবপুর পশ্চিম নামে দুইটি ইউনিয়নে বিভক্ত হয়। বিভক্ত সহদেবপুর ইউনিয়নের মূল সহদেবপুর মৌজা সহদেবপুর পশ্চিম ইউনিয়নের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হওয়ায় এবং সহদেবপুর পূর্ব ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ কার্যালয় এ ইউনিয়নের ২৯নং পালাখাল মৌজার পালাখাল বাজারে অবস্থিত হওয়ায় এলাকাবাসীর দাবীর প্রেক্ষিতে এ ইউনিয়নের নাম পরিবর্তন করে ৪নং পালাখাল মডেল ইউনিয়ন রাখা হয়।

প্রশাসনিক কাঠামো

পালাখাল মডেল ইউনিয়ন কচুয়া উপজেলার আওতাধীন ৪নং ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ। এ ইউনিয়নের প্রশাসনিক কার্যক্রম কচুয়া থানার আওতাধীন। এটি জাতীয় সংসদের ২৬০নং নির্বাচনী এলাকা চাঁদপুর-১ এর অংশ।

শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা

২০১১ সালের পরিসংখ্যান অনুযায়ী পালাখাল মডেল ইউনিয়নের সাক্ষরতার হার ৩৯.৮%।[১]

শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান

১১টি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়, ২টি মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়, ২টি মাদ্রাসা, ১টি কলেজ রয়েছে।

যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা

পালাখাল মডেল ইউনিয়নের একমাত্র যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা হলো সড়ক পথ। তাছাড়া এই ইউনিয়নের মধ্যে দিয়েই ঢাকা-কচুয়া-চাঁদপুর মহাসড়কটির অবস্থান।
