Kitab Yobel

Kitab Yobel atau Kitab Yubileum (bahasa Inggris: Book of Jubilees), terkadang disebut Kejadian Kecil (Leptogenesis), adalah suatu karya keagamaan Yahudi kuno yang terdiri dari 50 bab/pasal, dan dipandang kanonik oleh Gereja Ortodoks Ethiopia serta kalangan Beta Israel (Yahudi Ethiopia), yang mengenalnya dengan sebutan Kitab Pembagian (bahasa Ge'ez: መጽሃፈ ኩፋሌ Mets'hafe Kufale). Kitab Yobel dipandang sebagai salah satu pseudopigrafa oleh Gereja Ortodoks Timur, Katolik Roma, dan Protestan.^[1]

Kitab ini dikenal dengan baik dalam Gereja perdana, sebagaimana terbukti dari tulisan-tulisan Epifanius, Yustinus Martir, Origenes, Diodorus dari Tarsus, Isidorus dari Aleksandria, Isidorus dari Sevilla, Eutikius dari Aleksandria, John Malalas, George Syncellus, dan George Kedrenos. Teks ini juga dimanfaatkan oleh komunitas yang pada awalnya mengoleksi Naskah Laut Mati. Tidak ada versi lengkap dalam bahasa Ibrani, Yunani, ataupun Latin yang terlestarikan hingga saat ini.

Kitab Yobel mengklaim penyajian "sejarah dari pembagian hari-hari Hukum, dari peristiwa-peristiwa pada tahun-tahun tersebut, sejumlah minggu-tahun, dan yubileum dunia ini" sebagaimana dinyatakan kepada Musa (di samping Taurat atau "Instruksi") oleh para malaikat ketika ia berada di Gunung Sinai selama empat puluh hari empat puluh malam.^[2] Kronologi yang disajikan dalam Kitab Yobel didasarkan pada kelipatan tujuh; yobel (yubileum) adalah periode 49 tahun, tujuh "minggu-tahun" (year-weeks) atau 7 kali periode 7 tahun, yang ke dalamnya seluruh waktu dibagi.
