서구의 배신

얄타 회담의 "연합국 3거두" 윈스턴 처칠, 프랭클린 루스벨트, 이오시프 스탈린. 폴란드와 체코를 비롯한 동유럽의 국가들은 독일에게 무너질 때 연합국의 도움을 받지도 못했고, 독일이 무너질 때는 연합국에게 거스름돈 취급을 받으며 강대국 간의 전리품으로 거래되었다.

서구의 배신 (西歐- 背信, 영어: Western Betrayal)은 제2차 세계대전 발발 이전과 세계대전의 종전 이후 영국과 프랑스가 체코슬로바키아 및 폴란드 민족들의 법적, 외교적, 군사적 권리를 보장해주지 않았다는 관점의 개념이다. 체코와 폴란드뿐만 아니라 다른 중앙유럽 및 동유럽 국가들에게 적용되기도 한다.

서구의 배신의 대표적 사례는 체코슬로바키아에 가해진 뮌헨 협정이 있다. 뮌헨 협정으로 체코슬로바키아가 무너지고, 1939년 9월에 폴란드가 독일과 소련의 침공을 받았을 때도 참전을 선언했을 뿐 아무것도 하지 않으며 서구 강대국들은 이를 방관했다 (가짜 전쟁). 제2차 세계대전 이후에도 같은 관점을 적용시키는 경우 영국과 미국이 중앙유럽과 동유럽을 테헤란 회담, 얄타 회담, 포츠담 회담에서 소련에게 팔아넘겼다고 보게 된다.
