Politická mapa Německa

Níže uvedený seznam zahrnuje německá města v abecedním seznamu. V závorkách jsou uvedeny spolkové země, do kterých daná města patří. K 1. lednu 2024 bylo v Německu celkem 2 056 měst[1].

V Německu neexistuje žádný rozdíl mezi pojmy město a velkoměsto; označení Stadt je určeno pro samostatnou obec, která má právo užívat tento titul. Naopak menší německé obce, které tento titul nepoužívají a nejsou zde tedy zahrnuty, jsou nazývány Gemeinden. Historicky bylo označení Stadt spojeno s městskými právy, ale dnes jde pouze o čestný titul. Tento titul může být obci udělen vládou příslušné spolkové země v níž leží a obvykle se přiděluje takovým sídlům, která buď měla historicky udělena městská práva, nebo v poslední době dosáhla značné velikosti a významu. Města s více než 100 000 obyvateli se nazývají Großstadt, což je ale pouze statistický pojem, který nemá žádný vliv na jejich správní status.
