Suku Abung

Suku Abung berada pada utara, tengah, timur Provinsi Lampung.[1] Suku Abung merupakan bagian/puak dari suku Lampung. Suku Abung tersebar di Sebelah utara berbatasan dengan Sungkai dan Way Kanan, sebelah barat berbatasan dengan daerah Lampung Barat, sebelah selatannya berbatasan dengan Lampung Selatan, dan sebelah timur berbatasan dengan Laut Jawa. Mayoritas masyarakat Abung memeluk agama Islam. Suku Abung sering disebut juga Abung Bunga Mayang. Bahasa Abung masih termasuk rumpun melayu. Mata pencaharian suku Abung bertani di sawah dan berladang. Orang abung juga memiliki kemampuan kerajinan tangan seperti tembikar. Sistem kemasyarakatan dipengaruhi oleh adat Simbur Cahaya dan pengaruh agama Islam.[2]
