Dr. Mariam Saleh (Arab: مريم صالح) ialah seorang ahli politik wanita di Palestin. Beliau pernah berkhidmat sebagai Menteri Hal Ehwal Wanita Palestin dalam kabinet pertama pimpinan Ismail Haniyeh pada Mac 2006 sehingga Mac 2007.[1] Beliau digantikan oleh Amal Seyam selepas rombakan kabinet pada Mac 2007.

Beliau ialah ahli Majlis Perundangan Palestin dari senarai perwakilan dalam Blok Perubahan dan Pembaharuan sejak 2006.[2]

Latar belakang

Mariam dilahirkan di Kem Pelarian Deir Ammar pada 1953, namun keluarga berasal dari perkampungan di Beit Nabala (kini di Lod dan Ramla dalam Israel). Beliau kembali ke wilayah Palestin pada 1993 selepas menghabiskan 22 tahun di Arab Saudi. Beliau menamatkan pengajian menengahnya di Sekolah Perempuan al-Bireh pada 1971 dan memegang sarjana muda syariah Islam dari Universiti Raja Abdulaziz di Jeddah dan sarjana serta ijazah kedoktoran dalam syariah Islam dari Universiti Umm al-Qura di Mekah.[3]

Kerjaya

Beliau ialah seorang profesor di Universiti al-Quds, dan menjadi profesor pelawat di Universiti Terbuka al-Quds. Beliau membuat penyelidikan mengenai kebudayaan Islam dan hak politik wanita dalam Islam. Selepas pembubaran kabinet Palestin Mac 2007, beliau menjadi profesor di Institut Perundangan al-Batul dan menjadi anggota Persatuan Wanita al-Huda.[3]
