பேஷ்வா நாராயணராவ் (Narayan Rao) (10 ஆகஸ்டு 1772 – 30 ஆகஸ்டு 1773) மராத்தியப் பேரரசின் பரம்பரை ஐந்தாம் பிரதம அமைச்சராக நவம்பர் 1772 முதல், ஆகஸ்டு 1773 முடிய கொலை செய்யப்பட்டு இறக்கும் வரை பணியாற்றியவர். இவரின் மனைவியின் பெயர் கங்காபாய் சாத்தே, மகனின் பெயர் சவாய் மாதவராவ்.

இளமையும், பேஷ்வாக பதவியேற்றல்

நாராயண ராவ் பேஷ்வா பாலாஜி பாஜி ராவின் மூன்றாவது மகன் ஆவார். பாலாஜி பாஜி ராவின் முதல் மகன் விஸ்வாஸ் ராவ் மூன்றாம் பானிபட் போரில் இறக்கிறார். இரண்டாம் மகன் மாதவராவ் 1761ல் மராத்திய பேஷ்வாவாக பதவியேற்று 1761ல் காச நோயால் இறக்கிறார். இவர்களது தாய்மாமன் இரகுநாதராவ், சிறு வயதாக இருந்த பேஷ்வா நாராயணராவின் ஆட்சிப் பிரதிநிதியாக நியமிக்கப்படுகிறார். திருமணம் ஆகி குழைந்தையுடை நாராயணராவை, சில ஆண்டுகள் கழித்து இரகுநாதராவ் சதிதிட்டம் தீட்டி, வீட்டுச் சிறையில் அடைத்து, ஆட்சி நிர்வாகத்தை தானே நடத்துகிறார்.

பாலாஜி பாஜி ராவ் காலத்திற்குப் பின் தானே மராத்திய பேஷ்வா ஆக நினைத்திருந்த இரகுநாதராவ், இச்சமயத்தை நன்கு பயன்படுத்திக் கொண்டான்.[1]

பேஷ்வா நாராயண கொலை செய்யப்படல்

1773ல் விநாயகர் சதுர்த்தி திருவிழா நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கையில், சனிவார்வாடா அரண்மனையில் புகுந்த இரகுநாதராவின் படைவீரர்கள், நாராயண ராவ் படுத்திருந்த அறைக்குள் புகுந்து, அங்கிருந்த பணியாளர்களையும், நாராயணராவையும் கொன்றனர். நாராயணராவின் உடல் யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் இரவில் எரிக்கப்பட்டது.[2] N[3]
