Op het US Open 1973 tennistoernooi speelden de vrouwen en mannen in het gemengd dubbelspel van 29 augustus tot en met 9 september 1973.
Het als eerste geplaatste duo Billie Jean King en Owen Davidson won het toernooi. In de finale versloegen zij de als tweede geplaatste titelverdedigers Margaret Court en Marty Riessen in drie sets. Het was hun zevende gezamenlijke titel. De Amerikaanse King had daarnaast vier eerdere dubbelspeltitels met andere partners; de Australiër Davidson drie.
De Nederlandse Betty Stöve speelde samen met Dick Crealy uit Australië – zij strandden al in de eerste ronde.
