Le nom de "Khatuna Fekhra", une sainte yézidie en écriture yézidi

L'alphabet yézidi . Historiquement, il fut utilisé pour écrire le kurmandji, un dialecte majoritairement parlé dans le nord du Kurdistan. Il s'agit du seul alphabet qui soit propre aux yezidi.

Cet alphabet fut retrouvé dans les manuscrits historiques de Meṣḥefa Reş (Livre noir) et de Kitêba Cilwe (Livre des révélations).

En 2013, le Conseil spirituel des Yézidis en Géorgie a décidé de faire revivre l'écriture yézidie[1],[2].

L'écriture yézidie s'écrit de droite à gauche. La version moderne du yézidi est un alphabet et n'utilise pas de ligatures[1].

L'alphabet yézidi a été ajouté à la version 13.0 de l'Unicode en mars 2020. Il contient 47 caractères[3].
