Heikki Järvenpää

Heikki Mikael Järvenpää (s. 11. joulukuuta 1948 Lappeenranta) on suomalainen yritysjohtaja ja kokoomuslainen poliitikko. Hän toimi kansanedustajana Kymen läänin vaalipiiristä vuosina 1979–1991 ja 1998–1999.[1]

Järvenpää valmistui ylioppilaaksi vuonna 1967 ja valtiotieteiden maisteriksi 1975. Hän työskenteli Oy Kaukas Ab:n hallinnollisen johtajan assistenttina Lappeenrannassa 1977–1978 ja tiedotuspäällikkönä 1978–1986, minkä jälkeen hän oli apulaisjohtaja Kymmene Oy:ssä 1986–1991. Järvenpää toimi vuodesta 1992 johtajana UPM-Kymmene Oyj:ssä.[1]

Eduskuntaan Järvenpää valittiin ensimmäisen kerran vuoden 1979 vaaleissa, ja hän jatkoi kansanedustajana kunnes putosi vuoden 1991 vaaleissa. Hän toimi kansanedustajana uudelleen vuosina 1998–1999 Kari Häkämiehen siirryttyä Kuopion kaupunginjohtajaksi.[1][2] Järvenpää on toiminut Lappeenrannan kaupunginvaltuustossa vuosina 1976–1992[1] sekä vuodesta 2005 eteenpäin, ja ollut kaupunginvaltuuston puheenjohtaja vuosina 1985 ja 1987–1992[1] sekä vuodesta 2005 eteenpäin. Hän on Kokoomuksen Kaakkois-Suomen piirin puheenjohtaja.[3]

Vuonna 2000 Järvenpää perusti International Youth Foundation -verkostoon kuuluvan Suomen Lasten ja Nuorten Säätiön, jonka toiminnanjohtajana hän toimi vuosina 2000–2004.lähde?
