Η Πλάκα είναι χωριό και έδρα ομώνυμης κοινότητας του δήμου Αποκορώνου στην περιφερειακή ενότητα Χανίων της Κρήτης. Βρίσκεται σε υψόμετρο 90 μέτρων, με θέα τον κόλπο της Σούδας. Απέχει 18 χιλιόμετρα από τα Χανιά.[1]

Ιστορία

Η παλαιότερη μνεία του χωριού γίνεται στην αιγυπτιακή απογραφή του 1834, σύμφωνα με την οποία στο χωριό κατοικούσαν 20 χριστιανικές οικογένειες. Το 1881 είχε 313 κατοίκους και ανήκε στον δήμο Αρμένων.[1] Αναλυτικά η δημογραφική πορεία του χωριού σύμφωνα με τις απογραφές:
