Сярэдняе царства — эпоха ў гісторыі Старажытнага Егіпта паміж 21—18 стст. да н.э., час праўлення XI, XII і XIII дынастый.

У часы XI дынастыі была адноўлена цэнтральная адміністрацыя, але сапраўднае развіццё Егіпта прыпала на перыяд XII дынастыі. У выніку рэформ вырас аўтарытэт фараона і была абмежавана незалежнасць намархаў, ліквідавана спадчыннасць службовых пасад; сталіца перанесена ў цэнтр Егіпта, побач з Фаюмскім аазісам, дзе былі праведзены вялікія меліярацыйныя работы.

Развіваўся замежны гандаль (з Крытам, Пунтам, Сірыяй, Малой Азіяй і Месапатаміяй), створана прафесійная армія, пабудавана сістэма ўмацаванняў ва ўсходняй частцы дэльты Ніла і ў ніжняй Нубіі. На гэты перыяд прыпадае росквіт літаратуры і мастацтва.
