Вялікая цёмная пляма

Вялікая цёмная пляма (таксама вядомая як GDS-89[1]) — цёмная пляма на Нептуне, падобнае да Вялікай чырвонай плямы Юпітэра. Пляма была выяўлена ў 1989 годзе з дапамогай касмічнага апарата «Вояджэр-2». І Вялікая цёмная пляма Нептуна, і Вялікая чырвоная пляма Юпітэра з’яўляюцца антыцыклонамі. Аднак, у параўнанні з плямай Юпітэра, якая назіраецца ўжо на працягу некалькіх стагоддзяў, тэрмін жыцця плямы Нептуна значна меншы. Зыходзячы з назіранняў «Вояджэр-2» і касмічнага тэлескопа «Хабл», пляма знікла да 1994 года.

Характарыстыка

Цёмная, эліпсападобная пляма (13000 × 6600 км) па памерах нагадвае Зямлю. Вакол плямы хуткасць ветра дасягае 2400 км/г, што з’яўляецца найбольшым паказчыкам ва ўсёй Сонечнай сістэме. Мяркуюць, што пляма ўяўляла сабою дзірку ў метанавых воблаках Нептуна. Вялікая цёмная пляма ўвесь час змяняла сваю форму і памер.

Знікненне

Пры спробе сфатаграфаваць пляму ў лістападзе 1994 года з дапамогай тэлескопа «Хабл» было выяўлена, што яна цалкам знікла. У наш час ужо на працягу некалькіх гадоў назіраецца новая пляма, якая атрымала назву «Паўночная вялікая цёмная пляма».
