The Wind in the Willows adalah buku anak-anak karangan novelis Inggris Kenneth Grahame, pertama kali diterbitkan pada tahun 1908. Buku ini mengisahkan empat hewan antropomorfis (hewan dengan kemampuan dan sifat seperti manusia): Mole si tikus tanah, Rat si tikus air, Mr. Toad si kodok, dan Badger si luak. Mereka hidup di dunia fiksi menyerupai Inggris pada Era Edward.

Pada tahun 1908, Grahame pensiun dari pekerjaannya sebagai sekretaris Bank of England. Ia kembali ke Berkshire, kota masa kecilnya, dan menghabiskan waktunya di tepi Sungai Thames, melakukan banyak hal seperti yang dilakukan karakter hewan dalam bukunya – mengutip, “bermain-main di perahu” – dan mengembangkan ceritanya sebelum memberi tahu putranya Alastair untuk mencetak naskah buku tersebut.

Novel tersebut telah memasuki cetakan ke-31 ketika A. A. Milne mengadaptasi sebagian ceritanya untuk sandiwara Toad of Toad Hall pada tahun 1929. Adaptasi film pertamanya diproduksi oleh Walt Disney pada tahun 1949 berjudul The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Berbagai adaptasi film dan televisi telah diproduksi sejak saat itu.

Pada tahun 2003, The Wind in the Willows menempati posisi #16 dalam survei The Big Read oleh BBC.^[1] Lebih dari satu abad setelah penerbitan awal, cerita ini diadaptasi kembali ke panggung teater sebagai drama musikal tahun 2014 oleh Julian Fellowes.
