Kang Yo-han (Ji Sung) adalah hakim ketua pengadilan yang menghukum orang yang tidak jujur di ruang sidang tanpa ampun dan mengubahnya menjadi acara realitas, dengan demikian Yo-han mendapat julukan "hakim iblis"; Namun, aura misteriusnya menyembunyikan identitas dan ambisi yang sebenarnya.
Saingan terbesar Kang Yo-han, dia lahir dari keluarga berpenghasilan rendah tetapi sekarang menjadi direktur eksekutif yayasan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan.
Pada 9 Juni 2020, dikabarkan bahwa Ji Sung telah ditawari peran utama Kang Yo-han.[8][9]Park Jin-young dan Park Gyu-young bergabung dengan kemungkinan menjadi daftar pemeran pada bulan Agustus,[10][11] sementara agensi Kim Min-jung mengonfirmasi bahwa dia sedang dalam pembicaraan untuk membintangi drama tersebut pada 3 Desember.[12]
Keempatnya dikonfirmasi menjadi pemeran utama pada 3 Februari 2021,[2][13] menjadikannya kolaborasi kedua Ji Sung dan Kim Min-jung setelah mereka membintangi drama medis New Heart (2007-2008).[14]
