אזור התעשייה בנוה דקלים היה אזור תעשייה שהיה בדרום מזרח ההתנחלות נוה דקלים ושימש את תושבי גוש קטיף כמקור הכנסה עיקרי.

באזור התעשייה היו כ-13,000 מ"ר אשר שימשו למטרות תעשייה, במקום היו מפעלים של תעשייה קלה, ובהם בית אריזה, נגריות, מוסך, מפעל חרושת קטיף, מפעל מיצים "פרי קטיף", בית-דפוס וסופרמרקט גדול[1].

בגלל הקרבה של אזור התעשייה לערים פלסטיניות בעלי ועובד המפעלים סבלו לאורך השנים מצלפים פלסטינים מחאן-יונס שירו לעבר השוהים באזור התעשייה וכן לעבר בעלי העסקים.

היסטוריה

במאי 2001 הודיע צה"ל כי סיכל פיגוע באזור התעשייה בנוה דקלים, על ידי מחבל שבא מכיוון פרוורי חאן יונס ונורה בעת שהלך לכיוון אזור התעשייה[2].

ב-2 בספטמבר 2001 התרחש במקום קרב יריות בין כוחות צה"ל לפלסטינים אשר שהו בסמוך לאזור התעשייה[3].

מספר שבועות לאחר מכן, ב-29 סספטמבר 2001 נורו כ-2 ררנ"טים לעבר אזור התעשייה, כמה דקות לאחר האירוע פורסם כי לא היו נפגעים בנפש ואף ככל הנראה גם לא היה נזק לרכוש באזור התעשייה[4].

בינואר 2005 נאלצו כוחות צה"ל לפנות מספר שוטרים פלסטינים בעקבות כעס שהובע על ידי המתנחלים בנוה דקלים, דבר זה בא לאחר שכ-100 מתושבי הגוש הגיעו למעבר תופאח בסמוך לאזור התעשייה בנוה דקלים, המתנחלים התעמתו עם השוטרים אשר הוצבו בקרבת מקום, מספר מקורות אשר דיווחו כי צה"ל היו מאוד מוטרדים מהאירוע וההתנהגות של המתנחלים באזור התעשייה שהגיעו למקום בעת שהתקיים בו מפגש ביטחוני של קצינים ישראלים ופלסטינים. לטענת צה"ל המתנחלים למעשה "פוצצו" את המפגש בכך שהוציאו את האוויר של הצמיגים של מכניות הקצינים ואף הרעישו כדי להקשות על השיחה בין הצדדים[5].

בסוף יוני 2005 גילה צה"ל מנהרה אשר נחפרה מאזור חאן יונס לעבר אזור התעשייה של נוה דקלים, מטרתה של המנהרה הייתה ככל הנראה להחדיר מחבלים לאזור או לשמש כמנהרת הברחה לאמצעי לחימה[6].

אחת הבעיות של עובדי ובעלי המפעלים לקראת ביצועה של תוכנית ההתנתקות הייתה העובדה שחלק מעובדי המפעלים היו פלסטינים דבר אשר יאלץ את מנהלי המפעל לגייס עובדים אחרים, בעיה נוספת אשר הקשה על התעשיינים לא יודעים אפילו היכן יאחסנו את הציוד ואת המכונות בתקופת המעבר בין הפינוי של הגוש ויחד איתו אזור התעשייה עד מציאת מקום קבע לאחסן את הציוד וכן שטח למפעל חדש.

אחד מהפתרונות אשר הוצעו כפיצוי לפינויו של אזור התעשייה היה להעתיק את אזור התעשייה שהיה בנוה דקלים לאזור התעשייה הדרומי של אשקלון וזאת במקביל להעברתם של עוד מבנים מהגוש או בניית חלופות למבנים אשר היו בו (בהם בין בניית מתנ"ס חדש למתיישבים מקוואות ואף הקצאת שטח לרצועת חוף פרטית לטובת המפונים)[7].
