"גן שעוני השמש" או "גן שעוני שמש" הוא פסל מאת האמן הישראלי יגאל תומרקין. הפסל ממוקם בגן צ'צ'יק באשקלון.

תיאור

הפסל "גן שעוני השמש" שייך לקבוצת פסלים שיצר תומרקין בסוף שנות ה-60 של המאה ה-20 ובהם "מצפור ערד" (1968) או "התרחשויות" (1972). הפסל מורכב מחיבור של כמה אלמנטים מופשטים, הפרושים במערך מורכב ודורשים מן הצופה להקיף את הפסל על מנת לראות את האלמנטים השונים שבו.

הפסל תוכנן כנראה עבור מרכז מסחרי בעיר ערד. תומרקין יצר דגם לפסל זה בשנת 1968.[1] תומרקין יצר את הפסל על גבי משטח מרובע, כשגרנוליט משמשת כמצע לאלמנטים השונים. על גבי המשטח יצר תומרקין שרטוט גאומטרי המכיל שני מעגלים וצירים אנכיים ואופקיים, המהווים חלק מן הקומפוזיציה. כל האלמנטים מתוכננים כך שאור השמש המשתנה ישפיע על הופעתם, וחלקם אף משמשים מעין שעון שמש. בין האלמנטים הפיסוליים בולט עמוד גבוה הצבוע שחור וכן מעין חרוט קטום ראש. השפה המופשטת של הפסל שואבת את השראתה מן הפיסול הקונסטרוקטיביסטי.
