A torre de Cillobre,[1] tamén coñecida como As Torres de Cillobre, é unha fortaleza medieval situada no lugar das Torres de Cillobre, na parroquia de Torás, preto da vila da Laracha. Atópase en ruínas.[2]

Historia

Acredítase que os seus primitivos propietarios foron a familia dos Andeiro, pois a súa pedra de armas amosa unha torre de pedra en campo de goles. Esta familia é orixinaria das terras de Bergantiños e espallouse por toda Galiza, pasando unha das súas ramas ao Reino de Portugal na época de Pedro I de Portugal. João Fernandes Andeiro, ao servizo deste soberano, recibiu en recompensa o señorío de varias vilas e o condado de Ourém.

De Dona Constanza das Mariñas, esposa de Fernán Pérez Parragués, o castelo foi herdado polo seu fillo, Gómez Pérez das Mariñas.

En 1958 o inmoble foi alienado para a construción dunha ponte, o que causou a desaparición da maior parte do que se conservaba da súa estrutura, especialmente o portón de armas, as torres e a muralla envolvente.

Entre o pouco que se conserva, destaca a capela de Santo Antón cuxa fachada, de estilo románico, integrante do conxunto defensivo orixinal, está restaurada.

Características

A edificación nun principio debeu ser construída coma estrutura de carácter eminentemente defensivo, pero co paso dos séculos transformouse nun pazo señorial, conservando algúns dos antigos elementos defensivos, como varios corpos de torres, de planta rectangular, moi rebaixados da súa altura orixinal.
