Η Πελεκητή είναι οικισμός της Περιφερειακής Ενότητας Μεσσηνίας, στην Περιφέρεια Πελοποννήσου, με πληθυσμό 50 κατοίκων, σύμφωνα με την Απογραφή του 2011.[1] Διοικητικά ανήκει στην Κοινότητα Σταματινού και υπάγεται στη Δημοτική Ενότητα Αρφαρών, του Δήμου Καλαμάτας.[2]

Πληροφορίες

Η Πελεκητή ή Πελεκητό βρίσκεται σε υψόμετρο 574 μέτρων[3] και απέχει 25 χιλιόμετρα από την Καλαμάτα. Ονομάστηκε έτσι, από μια δεξαμενή που έχει λαξευθεί (πελεκηθεί), εντός βράχου.[4]

Διοικητικές μεταβολές

  • 14-03-1971, αναγνώριση του οικισμού Πελεκητή[5] και προσάρτησή του στην Κοινότητα Σταματινού.
  • 04-12-1997, ο οικισμός Πελεκητή αποσπάται από την Κοινότητα Σταματινού και προσαρτάται στο Δήμο Αρφαρών.
  • 07-06-2010, ο οικισμός Πελεκητή αποσπάται από το Δήμο Αρφαρών και προσαρτάται στο Δήμο Καλαμάτας.
