Çarlz Daues (27 avqust 1865[2][3][…] – 23 aprel 1951[4][2][…]) — ABŞ-lı siyasətçi. Amerika Birləşmiş Ştatlarının 30-cu vitse-prezidenti.

Həyatı

Nobel sülh mükafatı laureatı (1925, C. O. Çemberlenlə birlikdə). Varlı ailədən çıxmışdır. 1886-cı ildə Sinsinnati Universitetinin hüquq məktəbini bitirdikdən sonra özünün vəkil kontorunu açmışdır. Dəmiryol şirkətlərinin zorakılığına məruz qalan fermerlərin müdafiəçisi kimi tanınmışdır. 1896–97 illərdə prezident seçkilərində Respublikaçılar partiyasından namizəd U. Mak-Kinlinin İllinoys ştatında seçki kam paniyasına rəhbərlik etmişdir. Onun seçilməsindən sonra Daues pul dövriyyəsi üzrə müfəttiş olmuşdur.

Fəaliyyəti

1901-ci ildə Senata seçkilərdə məğlub olmuş, sonradan ABŞ-nin Orta Qərbində ən iri banka çevrilmiş "Central Trust Company of Illinois"un əsasını qoymuşdur. Birinci Dünya müharibəsi illərində könüllü orduya getmiş, ərzaqla təchizat və bölüşdürmə işinə baxmışdır. Müharibənin sonuna yaxın briqada generalı rütbəsini almış, Qərbi Avropadakı ABŞ ekspedisiya qüvvələrinin qərargah üzvü olmuş, müttəfiq qoşunlarının təchizatı məsələlərinə rəhbərlik etmişdir. 1919-cu ildə hərbi xidmətini dayandırmış, ABŞ-nin maliyyə naziri olmaq təklifini rədd etmiş, büdcə bürosunun direktoru təyin olunmuşdur. 1923–24-cü illərdə ABŞ hökumətinin tövsiyəsi ilə Almaniya üçün təzminat planını işləyib hazırlamış beynəlxalq ekspertlər komitəsinə rəhbərlik etmişdir. 1925–29-cu illərdə Respublikaçılar partiyasından ABŞ-nin vitse-prezidenti, 1929–32-ci il lərdə ABŞ-nin Böyük Britaniyada səfiri idi. 1932-ci ildən "Böyük depressiya"nın nəticələrini aradan qaldırmaq məqsədi daşıyan Maliyyə bərpa korporasiyasına və Çikaqoda Mərkəzi respublika bankının idarə heyətinə rəhbərlik etmişdir. Çikaqo opera teatrının yaradılmasında böyük rolu olmuşdur.[5]

Çarlz Daues ABŞ-nin 30-cu prezidenti Kalvin Kulicin vitse-prezidenti olmuşdur. 1925-ci ildə Nobel sülh mükafatına layiq görülmüşdür.
