New American Bible (NAB) adalah sebuah terjemahan Alkitab Katolik dalam bahasa Inggris yang pertama kali diterbitkan pada tahun 1970. NAB merupakan dasar dari revisi Leksionari, dan satu-satunya terjemahan Alkitab yang disetujui penggunaannya dalam Misa di seluruh keuskupan di Amerika Serikat dan Filipina.[1][2]

NAB berasal dari Confraternity Bible, yang adalah terjemahan dari Vulgata oleh Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, dan merupakan suatu proyek yang beralih pada penerjemahan Alkitab dari bahasa aslinya sebagai tanggapan atas Divino afflante Spiritu (ensiklik Paus Pius XII tahun 1943). Upaya ini pada akhirnya menghasilkan "New American Bible" yang memperhatikan prinsip-prinsip liturgis dan semangat reformasi Konsili Vatikan II (1962-1965).
