少林功夫是在中國河南登封嵩山少林寺的佛教文化环境中形成的武術，以佛教神力信仰为基础，体现禪宗智慧并以少林寺僧侶修习的武术为主要的表现形式，其要旨是禅武合一。[1]少林功夫是中國武界各大流派中历史最悠久、种类最繁多、体系最庞大的门派。少林功夫作为中华文化的杰出代表和人类文明的生动展示，已经成为中华民族的精神财富和全人类共同享有的文化遗产。[2] 　

概述

少林功夫历史久远，拥有完备的理论和技艺体系。自少林寺设立以来，少林功夫开创出数百套套路，数十种拳械，七十二绝技，以及擒拿、格斗、卸骨、点穴、气功等功法。少林功夫设计的每个动作都是以人体医学知识为基础，遵循人体运动规律。动作和套路都讲究动静结合、阴阳平衡、刚柔相济、神形兼备。少林功夫的灵魂是对佛教禅宗智慧的信仰，初祖菩提达摩是少林功夫的智慧主神，紧那罗是少林功夫的力量主神。少林功夫修炼者以佛教信仰为基础，神力信仰是僧侣在少林功夫修炼过程中的重要表现形态，修炼者期许禅宗赋予智慧和力量。[3]

少林功夫的传承严格按照师徒制度进行，确立于十三世纪的少林寺宗法门头制度对少林功夫的传承具有重要影响，少林寺当代僧人的传承仍遵循着当时确立的传承谱系。少林功夫传承人资格的认定以禅宗法脉传承制度为基础，在师父综合考核弟子，得到师父认可后才能成为法脉的传承人。少林功夫的传习方式以口诀为主，即由师父言传身教，弟子则需勤学苦练。要练就高水平的少林功夫，除体能付出外，还需要弟子对师父言传的领悟，要达到这一境界，则需要僧侣在日常修行中不断提高，这就是少林功夫的“禅武合一”精神内涵。[3]

历史

拳法

少林功夫从少林寺创建开始就逐渐形成，少林寺因印度高僧跋陀而设，而少林功夫信仰的最初形态——禅定，就是由跋陀传入。跋陀弟子僧稠的禅定神迹，对少林功夫的神力信仰产生重大影响。隋末乱世，少林寺僧人组织力量与山贼作战则为少林功夫的产生提供了客观环境，少林寺昙宗等十三位僧人助唐有功，唐朝建立后，政府以物援方式鼓励少林寺僧人修佛研武，这为少林功夫的发展提供了物质基础，习武蔚然成风，代代相传。宋代少林寺演变为禅宗教派场地，禅武合一思想逐渐成为少林功夫的指导思想。少林寺在元朝宗法门头制度的建立是明朝少林功夫门派的形成的基础。明代少林寺武僧多次被政府调集参战，屡建奇功，使少林功夫进一步被社会熟知。满清政权时期，严禁汉人习武，少林功夫的发展空间被严重挤压，后经中华民国战乱至中华人民共和国成立至今，少林功夫在艰难复活。[4]

影响

在千年历史中，少林武僧以正义、正直、勇敢的性格特征，参与过许多历史事件，为社会矛盾的化解、社会秩序的稳定起到过重要作用。少林功夫融武术实战和禅宗修行与一体，不同时期的人们对于少林功夫的认识从武术技艺逐渐延伸至对佛教“慈悲为怀，普渡众生”基本教义的认知，所以少林功夫也发挥了对世俗大众向善心理的教化功能。少林功夫作为中国传统文化的独特表现形式也成为当今中国向外界展示的文化符号之一。[5]
