Owó náírà (Àmì: ; Àdàpè: NGN; ) ní owó tí wón ń lò fún títà-rírà ní Nàìjíríà. Ọwọ́ náírà kan jẹ́ ọgọ́rùn-ún kọ́bọ̀.[2] Ilé-ìfowópamọ́ Central Bank ti Nàìjíríà (CBN) nìkan ló láṣẹ láti ṣe owó síta ní Orílẹ̀-èdè Nàìjíríà.[3][4]

Ìtàn

Nàìjíríà bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní lọ owó náírà ní ọjọ́ kìíní oṣù kìíní ọdún 1973,[5] wọ́n pààrọ̀ owó Pọ́nhùn Nàìjíríà tí Nàìjíríà ń lò tẹ́lẹ̀. Owó yìí ni Pọ́nhùn kan(£1) tí a ṣe sí náírà meji.[6] Owó tuntun náà jẹ́ owó àkọ́kọ́ tí Nàìjíríà ṣe jáde lẹ́yìn òmìnira Nàìjíríà. Owó tí Nàìjíríà ń lò kí ó tó di ìgbà náà ni Pọ́nhùn Nàìjíríà tí ìjọba a kọ́ni lẹ́rú Naijiria ṣe ní ọdun 1959, tí orúkọ Èlísábẹ́tì kejì sì wà lára rẹ̀.[7]

Obafemi Awolowo lọ́ mú abá orúkọ "Náírà" wá, ó yọọ́ lára "Nàìjíríà" [8][9] ṣùgbọ́n , mínísítà tí ó ń rí sí ọ̀rọ̀ owó, Shehu Shagari ni ó gbé owó náà síta ní ọdun 1973.
