Pohánkovec japonský alebo krídlatka japonská[1] (Fallopia japonica), je najznámejší druh rodu pohánkovec. Je to statná, vytrvalá, rýchlo sa rozrastajúca invazívna rastlina dosahujúca výšku okolo 2 metrov a vytvárajúca takmer nepriestupné porasty. Na Slovensku je podľa zákona inváznou rastlinou.[2][3][4]

V Ázii a Severnej Amerike sa mladé výhonky tejto rastliny bežne konzumujú. Krídlatka japonská je bohatým zdrojom polyfenolu resveratrol, ktorý má pozitívne protirakovinové účinky, a patrí k druhom často využívaným v tradičnej čínskej medicíne.[5] V predaji sú výťažky z krídlatky, ktorým výrobcovia a predajcovia prisudzujú širokú škálu pozitívnych zdravotných účinkov, ale nie sú k dispozícii vedecké dôkazy potvrdzujúce, že chránili človeka pred nejakou chorobou alebo že by liečili.[6]

Vedomé rozširovanie druhu do prírodného prostredia sa v súčasnosti považuje za nelegálne.[7]
