Najbardziej wartościowe rezultaty uzyskano w biegu na 5000 metrów mężczyzn (m.in. 4. oraz 5. wynik w historii światowej lekkoatletyki). Prowadzący przez drugą część dystansu Daniel Kipchirchir Komen pomylił ilość okrążeń i finiszował 200 metrów za wcześnie, przez co ukończył bieg dopiero na drugiej pozycji[1].
