Intelligent Music Project på Commons

Intelligent Music Project er en bulgarsk supergruppe grunnlagt i 2012 av den bulgarske forretningsmannen Milen Vrabevski. En rekke profesjonelle musikere har vært tilknyttet gruppen, og i 2022 representerte bandet Bulgaria i Eurovision Song Contest med sangen «Intention».

Historie

Supergruppen ble grunnlagt av forretningsmannen Milen Vrabevski og har bestått av artister og sangere som Simon Phillips, John Payne, Carl Sentance, Bobby Rondinelli og Todd Sucherman. De slapp debutalbumet sitt i 2012 og har siden både turnert og utgitt ny musikk.[1] Bandets nåværende vokalist er den chilenske rockesangeren Ronnie Romero.[2][3]

I november 2021 kunngjorde Bulgarias nasjonale televisjon (BNT) at den hadde valgt gruppen til å representere Bulgaria i Eurovision Song Contest 2022 i Torino i Italia. Bidraget deres, «Intention» ble sluppet 5. november 2021, som det første av 2022-konkurransen bidrag til å bli offentliggjort.[4] Bandet endte nest sist i sin semifinale og kvalifiserte seg dermed ikke til finalen i Eurovision Song Contest 2022.[5]

Gruppen bestod vinteren 2022 av vokalist Ronnie Romero, Bisser Ivanov, Slavin Slavcev, Ivo Stefanov, Dimitar Sirakov og Stojan Jankulov. Sistnevnte har tidligere representert Bulgaria to ganger i konkurransen: i 2007 og 2013.[6]
