CDKN2D（cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 2D）は、ヒトではCDKN2D遺伝子にコードされるタンパク質である。p19^INK4dの名称でも知られる^[5][6]。

機能

CDKN2D遺伝子にコードされるタンパク質は、サイクリン依存性キナーゼ阻害因子のINK4ファミリーのメンバーである。このタンパク質はCDK4またはCDK6と安定な複合体を形成してCDKの活性化を妨げることで、細胞周期のG₁期の進行を制御する細胞成長調節因子として機能する。この遺伝子の転写産物の存在量は細胞周期依存的に変動することが知られており、G₁期の中盤が最も低く、S期に最大の発現となる。このタンパク質が関与する細胞周期の負の調節は、神経細胞の増殖や精子形成の抑制に関与することが示されている。この遺伝子には選択的スプライシングによる2種類の転写産物が存在するが、同一のタンパク質をコードする^[6]。

ヒトのCDKN2A遺伝子の代替的リーディングフレームの産物であるp14ARFに対応する、マウスのp19ARFと混同しないよう注意が必要である。
