Jean Demangeot, né le à Paris et mort le à Neuilly-sur-Seine[1], est un géographe français qui fut le secrétaire général de l'association de géographes français de 1972 à 1982, puis son président de 1982 à 1986[2].

Il a fait ses études de géographie à la Sorbonne[2]. Il a été professeur émérite à l'université Paris X-Nanterre et Membre de l'Académie des sciences d'Outre-Mer.
