On 30 September, Qarabağ's match against Sabail scheduled for 4 October was postponed to allow Azerbaijan additional preparation time for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.[7]
On 8 December, Qarabağ's final UEFA Europa League group match, against Villarreal, was postponed as Qarabağ did not have enough players due to COVID-19 infections.[9] The match was awarded 3-0 to Villarreal on 18 December.[10]
