Suku Dayak Siang (Siang Sondang dan Siang Murung) adalah suku asli di kabupaten Murung Raya, bagian timur laut provinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Suku Dayak Siang Sondang dan Murung memiliki asal dan akar atau bahasa yang sama, namun karena perbedaan wilayah tempat tinggal, dan dalam waktu yang agak lama maka keduanya memiliki sedikit perbedaan dalam beberapa kosakata bahasa, Suku Siang atau Dayak Siang Murung adalah suku Siang yang mendiami tepi sungai Barito dan sekitarnya serta dataran pesisir dekat sungai besar, sedangkan siang Sondang adalah Suku Siang pegunungan atau masih berdiam di wilayah asli asal suku dayak siang, yakni Tanah Siang dan Wilayah sekitarnya. Biasanya bahasa Dayak Siang Murung memiliki bahasa yang lebih menekan logatnya "(dalam bahasa Siang)Noka'n". Suku Dayak Siang baik Sondang maupun Murung memiliki bahasa yang amat unik dan berbeda dari bahasa Dayak kebanyakan, dan jika ada Suku Dayak lain kebanyakan mencoba mempelajari Bahasa Dayak Siang akan mengalami kesulitan pada pelafalan dari beberapa kata dan dialek yang sulit. Sebagai contoh, huruf "S" jika berada diujung kata tidak dibaca "Es" tetapi lebih menyerupai "Eyhs", demikian juga huruf "L" tidak dilafalkan "L" biasa dalam kebanyakan kata, tetapi lebih ke pelafalan antara "L" dan "R", contoh misal ada kata "Luas" maka dibaca "Lr'uayhs" sesuai lidah Dayak Siang. Selain itu masih banyak pelafalan huruf-huruf tertentu yang berbeda dari bahasa Indonesia dan Dayak pada umumnya. Suku Dayak Siang asli kebanyakan memiliki wajah oriental (Asia/Kecina-cinaan) dan mata sipit serta kulit kuning, hal ini adalah juga jawaban atas asal usul Suku Dayak Siang yang merupakan keturunan bangsa dari Dataran Tiongkok Selatan, sehingga kadang kala digolongkan juga Ras Neo-Mongoloid (Proto Melayu tidak tepat). Tetapi kini karena perbauran berbagai suku bangsa, terutama juga karena Suku Siang merupakan suku yang memiliki toleransi dan penerimaan tinggi terhadap orang luar, Suku Siang banyak berbaur dengan Suku dayak lainnya, bahkan Suku luar pulau seperti Jawa, dan lain-lainnya yang membuat Suku Siang kebanyakan juga memiliki ciri-ciri mirip orang Indonesia kebanyakan.
