Maine adalah sebuah negara bagian Amerika Serikat. Negara bagian ini mungkin dinamakan atas provinsi Prancis Maine dan departemen Maine-et-Loire. Kemungkinan lainnya dikarenakan orang-orang yang tinggal di pulau-pulau sekitar biasa mengatakan akan pergi ke daratan ("going over to the Main"). Singkatan pos A.S.nya adalah ME. Empat kapal AL AS dinamakan USS Maine sebagai penghormatan kepada negara bagian ini. Negara bagian ini biasanya dingin, meskipun musim panas yang hangat dapat memberikan suhu di atas 80° Fahrenheit selama rata-rata 15 hari di bulan Juli.
