Kadalan sulawesi (Phaenicophaeus calyorhynchus) adalah spesies burung dari famili Cuculidae. Makanan utama burung ini adalah serangga. Di daerah Minahasa dikenal dengan nama burung bantik.

Deskripsi

Panjang tubuh sekitar 51–53 cm. Paruh tebal dan kokoh. Paruh atas berwarna kuning dan menghitam pada bagian ujungnya, paruh bawah berwarna merah. Ekor panjang berwarna biru gelap.[2]

Habitat

Menghuni hutan primer dan sekunder. Biasa juga ditemukan di tepi hutan dan lahan pertanian.[2]

Perilaku

Kadalan sulawesi diketahui sering berasosiasi dengan jenis-jenis monyet di Sulawesi. Burung ini mencari makan di dekat kelompok monyet, memanfaatkan keberadaan monyet untuk memangsa serangga yang terhalau selagi monyet tersebut lewat.[3]

Persebaran

Endemik di pulau Sulawesi dengan tiga subspesies.[2]

  1. P. c. calyorhynchus (Temminck, 1825). Sulawesi Utara, Gorontalo, Sulawesi Tengah bagian timur, Sulawesi Tenggara dan Pulau Togian.
  2. P. c. meridionalis (Meyer & Wiglesworth, 1896). Sulawesi Tengah bagian selatan dan Sulawesi Selatan.
  3. P. c. rufiloris (Hartert, 1903). Pulau Butung
