Green New Deal (GND) adalah usulan program stimulus ekonomi yang bertujuan untuk menanggulangi masalah pemanasan global dan ketimpangan ekonomi.[1][2][3][4] Nama ini mengacu kepada New Deal, yang merupakan program reformasi ekonomi dan sosial serta proyek pekerjaan umum yang dilancarkan oleh Presiden Amerika Serikat Franklin D. Roosevelt untuk menanggulangi kelesuan ekonomi yang diakibatkan oleh Depresi Besar.[5] Green New Deal memadukan pendekatan ekonomi Roosevelt dengan gagasan-gagasan modern seperti energi terbarukan dan efisiensi sumber daya.[6][7]

Di Kongres ke-116 Amerika Serikat, Green New Deal dimasukkan ke dalam dua resolusi, yaitu H. Res. 109 yang diajukan oleh Anggota Dewan Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dan S. Res. 59 yang diajukan oleh Senator Ed Markey. Pada 25 Maret 2019, resolusi Markey ditolak di Senat Amerika Serikat dengan perolehan suara 0-57; kebanyakan anggota Senat dari Partai Demokrat memilih abstain untuk menentang pemungutan suara ini karena dianggap sebagai manuver politik untuk mengadu domba anggota Demokrat.[8]
