Муніципалітет розташований на відстані[2] близько 340 км на схід від Парижа, 60 км на схід від Меца.

Історія

До 2015 року муніципалітет перебував у складі регіону Лотарингія. Від 1 січня 2016 року належить до нового об'єднаного регіону Гранд-Ест[3].

Економіка

2010 року серед 8322 осіб працездатного віку (15—64 років) 5227 були активними, 3095 — неактивними (показник активності 62,8%, у 1999 році було 61,1%). З 5227 активних мешканців працювало 4160 осіб (2262 чоловіки та 1898 жінок), безробітними було 1067 (503 чоловіки та 564 жінки). Серед 3095 неактивних 644 особи були учнями чи студентами, 1078 — пенсіонерами, 1373 були неактивними з інших причин[7].

У 2010 році в муніципалітеті числилось 5453 оподатковані домогосподарства, у яких проживали 12323,0 особи, медіана доходів виносила 15 003,5 євро на одного особоспоживача[8]
