Andrea Alciato veya çok kullanılan haliyle Alciati (8 Mayıs 1492 - 12 Ocak 1550), İtalyan yazar ve hukukçu. Fransız Hukukçu Hümanistler okulunun kurucusu olarak kabul edilir.

Hayatı

Milano yakınlarındaki Alzate Brianza'da doğdu. 16. yüzyılın başlarına kadar Fransa'da yaşadı. Hukukları açıklamada güzel bir edebi dil kullandı, medeni hukuku tarihte ilk yorumlayanlardan biridir. Antik literatürü araştırmakla birlikte özgün yorumlar ekledi. Çok sayıda hukuk eseri yazdı. Bunun yanı sıra Milano ve bölgesi tarihini yazmak için Roma yazıtlarını derledi ve Tacitus'a dipnotlar yazdı. En ünlü eseri Emblemata, 1531'deki ilk basımından sonra düzinelerce baskı yaptı.

Alciati, 1550'de Pavia'da öldü.
