1881–1882 Osmanlı İmparatorluğu nüfus sayımı [a], formlar ve kayıt komitelerine dair hazırlıkların 1884-1885'te tamamlandığı (aynı zamanda 1881-1883 nüfus sayımı olarak da anılır) ve bu tarihten itibaren 1893'te yayınlanan nihai kayda kadar yıllık raporlarla toplanan sürekli bir bilgi akışının olduğu çok yıllı bir nüfus sayımı çalışmasıydı.[1] İlk resmi nüfus sayımının (1881-1893) tamamlanması 10 yıl sürmüştür. Sadrazam Cevat Paşa, nüfus kayıtlarını ciltli bir el yazması halinde padişah II. Abdülhamid'e sundu. [b] [1]
