Pichliač sivý[3] (lat. Cirsium canum)[2] je trváca bylina z čeľade astrovité (Asteraceae). Jeho prirodzený areál zahŕňa mierne oblasti Európy až po západnú Sibír a Irán.[2]

Opis

Pichliač sivý je trváca bylina vysoká 50 až 150 cm, s vretenovito zhrubnutým podzemkom a jednoduchou alebo málo rozkonárenou byľou.[4][5]

Dolné listy sú zbiehavé, prostredné zúženou bázou sediace a horné sediace. Všetky sú v obryse podlhovasto kopijovité. Čepele sú na líci sviežo zelené, na rube sivé a chlpaté.[4][5]

Purpurové kvety sú usporiadané v súkvetí, ktorým je rúrkokvetý úbor. Jednotlivé kvety v úbore sú obojpohlavné, rúrkovité, pravidelné, päťpočetné, dlhé 15 až 22 mm. Tyčiniek býva zvyčajne päť, s peľnicami zrastenými do rúrky okolo čnelky. Kalich je voľný, trváci, premenený na chocholec s perovitými štetinkami dlhými 15 až 17 mm, ktoré slúžia na rozširovanie semien vetrom. Semenník je spodný a plodom je nažka veľká 3 až 4 mm. Guľovitý zákrov s priemerom do 25 mm pozostáva z listeňov, z ktorých vonkajšie sú s odstávajúcim ostníkom dlhým do 1,5 mm. Úbory s priemerom 30 až 40 mm sú jednotlivé a na dlhých stopkách.[4][5]

Rozšírenie

Areál rozšírenia pichliača sivého zahŕňa mierne oblasti od Francúzska cez strednú Európu až po západnú Sibír a Irán.[2]

Na Slovensku je v teplejších oblastiach na celom území dosť hojný.[4] V Slovenskom raji rastie hlavne na mokradiach.[6]

Ekológia

Pichliač sivý obsadzuje vhodné stanovištia od nížin do podhorského stupňa. Rastie na vlhkých lúkach, lesných mokradiach a pri prameniskách. Vyžaduje si vlhké, výživné, humózne a na minerálne látky bohaté pôdy. Kvitne od júla do októbra.[4][5]
