Kurška laguna (Kurski zaljev; rus. Куршский залив, lit. Kuršių marios, njem. Kurisches Haff) je laguna (zaljev) odvojen od Baltičkog mora Kurškom prevlakom - sprudi, koja završava tjesnacem kod litavskog grada Klaipede.[1]

Karakteristike

Kurška laguna se proteže u dužinu od nekih stotinjak km, od Sambijskog poluotoka u Kalinjingradskoj oblasti do Klaipede u Litvaniji. Laguna ima površinu od 16000 km², od tog 12000 km² pripada ruskoj Kalinjingradskoj oblasti, a 4000 km² Litvaniji.[1]

Laguna je dosta plitka - prosječna dubina joj je 3,7 metara, ali je bogata ribom, ukupno 53 vrste, od potočne pastrve, šarana, jegulje, klena do papalina i bakalara.[1]

Voda u laguni je gotovo uvijek svježa, jer u nju uviru brojne rijeke; Njemen, Dejma... pa je vodostaj u laguni 12-15 cm viši nego u Baltičkom moru. Zbog tog je voda u laguni gotovo slatkovodna (salinitet ne prelazi 8 promila). U Kurškoj laguni ima puno ptica močvarica - raznih vrsta od gusaka do pataka, pa je popularan i lov na njih, godišnje se odstreli do 40000 jedinki.[1]

Kurška prevlaka je najduža pješčana sprud na svijetu, danas je dio istoimenog nacionalnog parka.[1]
