Rzucający obrońca mijający przeciwnika

Rzucający obrońca (shooting guard, SG, 2)[1][2][3][4] – zawodnik w koszykówce, od którego wymagana jest wysoka umiejętność zdobywania wielu punktów, głównie rzutami z dystansu[5][1][2][3][6][4]. Często zdobywa najwięcej punktów podczas meczu, zwłaszcza rzutów za trzy punkty[7][1][3][6][4]. Rzucający obrońca powinien być bardzo dobry w szybkim, sprawnym kozłowaniu oraz precyzyjnych, szybkich podaniach[7][3]. Odpowiada razem z rozgrywającym za przeprowadzenie piłki przez własną połowę boiska oraz zainicjowanie stałego fragmentu gry[7][3]. Musi umieć zastąpić rozgrywającego, gdy zajdzie taka potrzeba[3]. Ze względu na swoją zwinność jest zawodnikiem trudnym do krycia[5]. Jest jednym z najniższych zawodników w drużynie[1]. W obronie jego mocną stroną jest szybkość, umiejętność zwinnego unikania zasłon od przeciwników[1] oraz wykonywanie przechwytów piłki[3]. Powinien być bardzo dobrym obrońcą[3].

Znani rzucający obrońcy: Michael Jordan, James Harden, Kobe Bryant, Reggie Miller[1][4], a w Polsce – Andrzej Pluta[4].
