Van Maanens stjerne er en hvit dverg i stjernebildet Fiskene. Van Maanens stjerne var den andre hvite dvergen man oppdaget og etter Sirius B og Procyon B den nærmeste hvite dvergen. Den har en relativt stor egenbevegelse, hele 2,98" i året.

Den har 7/10 av solens masse, men dens diameter og lysstyrke er mye mindre. Van Maanens stjerne ble oppdaget av Adriaan Van Maanen i 1917.

Mulig kompanjong

Muligheten for at det finnes en brun dverg rundt Van Maanens stjerne har vært kontroversielt i mer enn 30 år, med flere ulike fremskritt. Så sent som i 2004 bekreftet en rapport at dvergen eksisterte samtidig som en annen fornektet dette.[9]
