Ogres Vēstures un mākslas muzejs ir muzejs, kas atrodas Brīvības ielā 36, Ogrē, Ogres novadā. Muzejs dibināts 1981. gadā kā Ogres rajona vēstures un tautas mākslas muzejs. Muzeja mērķis ir saglabāt, pētīt un popularizēt Ogres novada kultūras un vēsturisko mantojumu.

Muzeja krājums

Muzeja krājums sastāv no vairāk nekā 40 000 priekšmetiem,[1] kas iedalīti četrās kolekcijās: arheoloģija, etnogrāfija, vēsture un māksla.[2] Muzejs glabā arī dažus nozīmīgus dokumentus, piemēram, Ogres pilsētas dibināšanas aktu (1928), Ogres novada domes lēmumus (1928—1940) un Ogres pilsētas padomes protokolus (1944—1990). Lai veicinātu krājuma izpēti un izglītošanu, muzejs rīko dažādas izstādes, pasākumus un ekskursijas.

Muzeja vēsture

Muzeja vēsture saistīta ar Ogres novada kultūras un politiskajiem notikumiem. Tas piedzīvojis vairākas nosaukuma, atrašanās vietas un vadības maiņas. 1981. gadā muzeju dibināja kā Ogres rajona vēstures un tautas mākslas muzejs.

2000. gadā muzejs mainīja savu nosaukumu uz Ogres Vēstures un mākslas muzejs un pārcēlas uz jaunu ēku, kas atrodas pilsētas centrā, Brīvības ielā 36, kas būvēta kā PSRS Valsts bankas ēka.[1]
