Lučera (it. Lucera) – miestas Italijoje, Apulijoje, Fodžos provincijoje.

Istorija

Lučerą įkūrė daunų gentis. Miesto ribose rastas Bronzos amžiaus kaimas. Miesto pavadinimas tikriausiai kilo nuo mitinio daunų karaliaus Liucijaus ar deivės Lux Cereris šventyklos. Trečioji galimybė yra, kad miestą įkūrė etruskai, tuomet pavadinimas kilo nuo Šventos giraitės (luceri).

321 m. pr. m. e. romėnai buvo apgauti ir manė, kad Lučerą apgulė samnitai. Romėnai skubėdami sąjungininkams į pagalbą pateko į pasalą ir pasidavė. Samnitai užėmė miestą, bet sukilimas juos išvijo. Lučera siekė Romos pagalbos ir 320 m. pr. m. e. gavo Colonia Togata titulą t. y. miestą valdė Romos senatas. Kad sustiprėtų miestų ryšiai 2500 romėnų persikėlė į Lučerą. Nuo to laiko miestas tapo ištikimu Romos sąjungininku.

Romos respublikos pabaigoje Pompėjus buvo Lučeroję įsirengęs būstinę, kurią apleido, kai prisiartino Julijus Cezaris. Miestas greitai perėjo į kitą pusę ir dėl Cezario atlaidumo miestas nenukentėjo. Per pilietinį karą tarp Oktaviano ir Marko Antonijaus miestas nukentėjo labiau ir Oktavianas čia apgyvendino daug savo veteranų, tad miestas greitai suklestėjo. Iš to laikotarpio išliko daug romėniškų paminklų, tarp jų Lučeros amfiteatras.

Žlugus Romos imperijai miestas patyrė nuosmūkį, 663 m. jį užėmė lombardai, o po to sugriovė imperatorius Konstantas II.

1224 m. Šventosios Romos imperatorius Frydrichas II, atsakydamas į religinius maištus Sicilijoje, išvijo musulmonus iš salos, daugelį jų perkeldamas į Lučerą (arabiškai Lugêrah) per kelis dešimtmečius. Čia jie negalėjo priešintis karaliui, o jam teikdavo mokesčius ir karinę tarnybą. Jų skaičius pasiekė 15-20 tūkst., o miestas pradėtas vadinti Lucaera Saracenorum, nes tai buvo paskutinis Islamo centras Italijoje. Taikos metu musulmonai vertėsi žemės ūkiu. Jie augino makaroninius kviečius, rugius, ankštis, vynuoges ir kitus vaisius, laikė bites dėl medaus.[1]

Kolonija išsilaikė iki 1300 m., kai ją nusiaubė Karolis II Neapolietis. Musulmonai buvo ištremti ar parduoti į vergiją[2]. Daugelis jų bėgo į Albaniją per Adrijos jūrą.[3] Jų mečetės buvo nugriautos, o tose vietose pastatytos bažnyčios, pvz.: S. Maria della Vittoria.[4]

Išvijus musulmonus Karolis bandė čia apgyvendinti krikščionis. Tie musulmonai, kurie atsivertė į krikščionybę atgavo dalį nuosavybės, bet nė vienas neatgavo buvusios ekonominės ir politinės įtakos. Laikui bėgant smuko javų derlius ir 1339 m. Lučeroje kilo badas. Krikščionims buvo leista ūkininkauti kaip musulmonams.[5]
