インタラクティブ・ライブ

インタラクティブ・ライブ（Interactive Live）とは、日本のマルチメディア・コンサートである。

概要

日本のミュージシャン・平沢進が主宰を務め、1994年より支援者の協力を得て「ストーリー仕立ての観客参加型ライブ」として開催されている[1]。

2002年に行われた「デジタルコンテンツグランプリ2001」にて、『インタラクティブ・ライブ・ショウ2000「賢者のプロペラ」』が最高賞である経済産業大臣賞、並びにエンターテイメント部門最優秀賞を受賞した[2][3]。

映像作品として、1995年以降の毎公演はDVDが販売されている[4]。2021年11月には、1996年に開催された「SIREN - 架空のソプラノ」のライブ音源が各種音楽サービスで配信された[5]。

ライブのサポートメンバーとしてゲストミュージシャンを呼ぶ事もあり、過去には戸川純やP-MODELの元メンバーも参加している。

開催にいたるきっかけ

1980年代の終わり頃からデジタル技術が著しく発達し、ミュージシャンが「個人」でできる範囲も広がり始め、インターネットの普及を予見した平沢は、新たなパフォーマンスの形態としての利用を考えていた[6]。

平沢は当時の心境として、「音楽制作から流通に至るまでのプロセスにおける最後の部分、つまり「情報発信」とダウンロードを含めた「流通」の部分が、インターネットによって完全に網羅されると思ったんです。」「デジタル系のアーティストが『ライブをやることの必然性』を探りたかった」と回顧している[6]。また、「コンピューターで演奏する姿は全然肉体的じゃないわけで、つまりコンピューターでそのようなショーにする為には、コンピューターそのもののメディア的な性格を最大限に引き出す事が、ライブに望む意味ではないかと考えたんです。」と答えている[7]。

そして「せっかく手中に収めたインターネットというメディアを、自分の音楽のなかにどう取り込んでいくか」という実験の意味もあったと語っている[6]。

パフォーマンス形式

オーディエンス（観客）はロールプレイングゲーム（RPG）のように、そのステージ上に設置された巨大スクリーンに投影される文字情報や映像によって表現されるストーリーの分岐を、声などのレスポンスにより選択していく[1]。

また、通常のミュージシャンが行うライブでは、ミュージシャンが事前に設定した曲目を順に披露していくが、「インタラクティブ・ライブ」では、オーディエンスのリアクションによって、演奏される楽曲も変わっていく[8]。物語にはいくつかの分岐点（ホット・ポイント）に加え、「グッドエンド」や「バッドエンド」等、数種類の結末が用意されており、観客は「グッドエンド」へ向けての選択をしていく[8]。

1998年からは演者と観客の双方向性を重視したパフォーマンスとなっており、インターネットを通じて現地の様子を生配信し、併せて特設サイトに提示された課題を解くことで、会場に足を運ばなかったリスナーも「在宅オーディエンス」としてライブの進行に影響を及ぼせるという仕組みも導入された[8]。

これらのストーリーの準備には約1年程準備が必要となり、分岐で演奏楽曲が変化されるため、ライブ二つ分の準備作業が必要となっている[7]。

2000年初頭まではAMIGAコンピュータを使って行われていたが、当時はコンピューターのスペックの問題が多く、些細なミスで上手く動かなくなることがあった[9]。1998年のインタラクティブ・ライブではエラーが発生し、40分程度ライブが中断してしまったことがあった[9]。これらのリスクについては、「オーディエンスのその場の反応や判断、リアルタイムのインターネットからのアクセスでストーリーが分岐・展開するからこそインタラクティヴなわけで、演出だけを取り繕って決められたストーリーが展開するのでは、意味が全くない。そのために背負うリスクは確かに大きいのだけれど、どのようなストーリーに展開していくか、本番では我々もスタッフももの凄い緊張感と達成感が得られるんです。」としていた[9]。
