Կենսագրություն

Կարիերա

Շառլոտա Մերսեդես Մակքեմբրիջը ծնվել է 1916 թվականի մարտի 16-ին՝ Իլինոյս նահանգի Ջոլիտ քաղաքում՝ իռլանդական, կաթոլիկ Մարի և Ջոն Պատրիկ Մակքեմբրիջների[3] ընտանիքում։ Ուսումը ստացել է Չիկագոյի Մանդելի քոլեջում[4]։

Իր կարիերան սկսել է 1940-ական թվականներին, իսկ հետո շարունակել է Բրոդվեյում։ 1946 թվականին դերասանուհին կատարել է իր առաջին դերը՝ «Ամբողջ թագավորական զորք» ֆիլմում։ Սեդի Բարկի դերը կատարելու համար արժանացել է «Օսկար» և «Ոսկե գլոբուս»՝ որպես «երկրորդ պլանի լավագույն դերասանուհի»։ 1954 թվականին դերասանուհին Ջոան Կրոուֆորդի հետ նկարահանվել է «Ջոննի կիթառ» վեստերնում, որը հանդիսանում է այս ժանրի դասական։ Նա նաև Լուզի դերում է խաղացել՝ «հսկա» (ռուս. Гигант) վեստերնում, որտեղ նրա հետ նկարահանվել են Էլիզաբետ Թեյլորը, Ռ. Խադսոնը և Ջեյմս Դինը։ Այս դերը նրան բերել է «Օսկար» մրցանակը, սակայն այդ տարի մրցանակը ստացել է Դորոտի Մէլոուն։

1973 թվականին դերասանուհին «Սատանա քշողը» ֆիլմում խոսել է դև Պազուզի ձայնով։ «Warner Bros.» ընկերությունը նրան հավատացրել է, որ իր անունը կտեղադրվի տիտղոսաշարում՝ տիտրերում, բայց խոստումը չի կատարել։ Դրանից հետո Մակկէնբրիջի և ֆիլմի ռեժիսորի միջև առաջանում է վիճաբանություն, որը հարթվում է այն բանից հետո, երբ էկրանային գիլդիայի դերասանների շնորհիվ դերասանուհու անունը հայտնվել է տիտրերում[4]։

1981 թվականին «The Quality of Mercy An Autobiography»-ում թողարկվում է իր ինքնակենսագրությունը։ Հոլիվուդյան փառքի ծառուղում դերասանուհին ունի երկու աստղ՝ ֆիլմում կատարած մեծ ավանդի համար։

Անձնական կյանք

1939 թվականին ամուսնացել է իր առաջին ամուսնու՝ Ուիլյամ Ֆիֆելդի հետ։ Ունեցել է մեկ որդի՝ Ջոն Ֆիֆելդը, սակայն 1946 թվականին նրանք ամուսնալուծվել են։

1950 թվականին դերասանուհին ամուսնանում է կանադացի ռադիոռեժիսոր Ֆ. Մարկելի հետ։ Ամուսնության ընթացքում դերասանուհու մոտ խմիչքի և խմելու հետկապված խնդիիրներ են առաջանում և նրան հաճախ են հոսպիտալացնում։ Դա հանդիսացել է 1962 թվականի ամուսնալուծության պատճառ։ Նա կարողացել է վերջնականապես հաղթահարել հարբեցողությունը միայն 1969 թվականին՝ անհայտ հարբեցողների կենտրոն այցելելուց հետո[4]։

Մերսեդեսը մահացել է 2004 թվականի մարտի 2-ին, 87 տարեկանում՝ Կալիֆոռնիայի Լա-Հոլայում գտնվող իր տանը։
