קתרין מרי הלמונד (באנגלית: Katherine Marie Helmond; ‏5 ביולי 1929 – 23 בפברואר 2019) הייתה שחקנית אמריקאית, זוכת שני פרסי גלובוס הזהב על תפקידיה בסדרות "בועות" ו"מי הבוס?". היא השתתפה בסרטים "ברזיל", "שודדי הזמן" ו"נשואה לשניים".

ביוגרפיה

הלמונד נולדה בעיר גלווסטון שבטקסס. בתם היחידה של תלמה וג'וזף הלמונד. לאחר גירושי הוריה, גודלה וחונכה על ידי אמה וסבתה כנוצרייה קתולית.[1]. בצעירותה נסעה לפתח את קריירת המשחק שלה בבמות תיאטרון בניו יורק.

קריירת משחק

טלוויזיה

הלמונד נודעה כאחת מהשחקניות הקומיות הטובות ביותר על מסך הטלוויזיה בשנות ה-80. היא הופיעה בתפקיד הראשי בקומדיית המצבים "בועות" בתור ג'סיקה טייט, וזכתה על תפקידה בפרס גלובוס הזהב לשחקנית הטובה ביותר בסדרה קומית בשנת 1980.

בשנת 1984 לוהקה הלמונד לסיטקום מצליח נוסף בשם "מי הבוס?" לתפקיד מונה רובינסון, אמה של אנג'לה באוואר (שגולמה על ידי ג'ודית לייט). הלמונד שיחקה בסדרה לאורך שמונה עונות, ובשנת 1988 זכתה על תפקיד זה בפרס גלובוס הזהב לשחקנית המשנה הטובה ביותר בסדרה קומית.

קולנוע

הלמונד החלה את הקריירה שלה בקולנוע בתפקידי משנה בסרטים "מזימות" (סרטו האחרון של אלפרד היצ'קוק), בתפקיד גברת מלוני, ו"ההינדנבורג" של רוברט וייז, בתפקיד מילדרד ברסלאו.

בשנות ה-80 השתתפה הלמונד בשניים מסרטי "טרילוגיית הדמיון" של טרי גיליאם: "שודדי הזמן" בתפקיד גברת אוגר ו"ברזיל" בתפקיד איידה, אמו של סם לורי. היא שיחקה בקומדיה "נשואה לשניים" בתפקיד אדית', אמה של ג'ואנה סטייטון (גולדי הון), ובסרט האימה "גברת בלבן" בתפקיד אמנדה הרפר עליו הועמדה לפרס סאטורן.

ב-1998 השתתפה הלמונד בקומדיה השחורה "פחד ותיעוב בלאס וגאס", בתפקיד הפקידה בבית המלון.

הלמונד דיבבה בסרטי האנימציה המצליחים: "מכוניות", "מכוניות 2" ו-"מכוניות 3" את דמותה של מכונית הפורד ליזי.

חיים אישיים

הלמונד נישאה פעמיים במהלך חייה, בשנת 1957 לגורג' מרטין ממנו התגרשה וב-1962 לדייוויד כריסטיאן, לו הייתה נשואה עד לפטירתה. מנישואיה לא נולדו לה ילדים.

נפטרה ב-23 בפברואר 2019 בביתה בלוס אנג'לס כתוצאה מסיבוכים של מחלת אלצהיימר. דבר מותה פורסם כשבוע לאחר פטירתה.[2][3]
