ירוק מהיר FCF (באנגלית: Fast Green FCF, Food green 3, FD&C Green No. 3, Green 1724, Solid Green FCF) הוא צבע מאכל ירוק-כחול. מספר ה-E שלו הוא E143.

ירוק מהיר FCF משמש כתחליף מומלץ לצבע Light Green SF yellowish בתהליך מאסון לצביעת תאים, מכיוון שהצבע שלו בוהק יותר והסיכוי שלו לדהות קטן יותר. הוא משמש לצביעה של היסטון ב-pH בסיסי, לאחר שהחומצה הוצאה מה-DNA. הוא משמש גם לצביעת חלבון באלקטרופורזה.

הוא נאסר לשימוש כצבע מאכל באיחוד האירופי ובמדינות נוספות, ובין השאר ישראל[1]. הוא יכול לשמש באפונה משומרת וירקות אחרים, ג'לי, רוטב, דג, קינוח ומאפה[2].

טוקסיקולוגיה

בניסויים שהתקיימו על בעלי חיים נמצא כי חומר זה גורם לנאופלזיה, וכן למוטגן בניסויים שנערכו על חיות וגם על בני אדם. בצורתו הבלתי מדוללת הוא גורם לגירוי בעיניים, בעור, במערכת העיכול ובמערכת הנשימה[3].
