Ximnasia rítmica

A ximnástica rítmica é un deporte, que se desenvolve nos Xogos Olímpicos e outros campionatos. Na súa maioría é practicado por mulleres.

O seu obxectivo é a busca de exhibicións orixinais, encadear exercicios difíciles, equilibrados e belos que potencien a expresividade e impresionen pola súa perfección técnica, harmonía e ritmo no movemento.

Os elementos que se empregan neste deporte son basicamente cinco:

  • Aro. Trátase dun elemento complicado. Anna Bessonova destacou polo seu bo facer con el.
  • Fita. A fita é vistosa e divertida, emprégase con música alegre. A súa mellor representante foi Vera Sessina.
  • Corda. Está considerado o máis difícil, aínda que por outra banda é tamén o máis elixido polas profesionais da ximnasia rítmica.
  • Mazas. É o elemento máis dinámico e alegre. Alina Kabaebva foi considerada a súa mellor representante.
  • Pelota. Ofrece as rutinas máis elegantes. A súa figura máis destacada foi Olga Kapranova.

Neste deporte olímpico hai competición tanto por conxuntos coma individualmente. Nestes momentos, Grecia, Italia, Belarús e Rusia ocupan os primeiros postos da clasificación mundial. As galegas Marta Bobo e Alba Caride tamén foron importantes ximnastas das décadas de 1980 e 1990.
